I’m a multi-ethnic, neurodiverse, queer, transmasculine and nonbinary therapist with deep Texas roots. Navigating multiple intersecting identities, I understand the profound impact that societal pressures and expectations can have on our sense of self. In a world built around heteronormative, neurotypical, and white-centric standards, we often absorb messages that tell us we don't quite fit—whether about our race, culture, ability, neurodiversity, gender, or sexuality.

Growing up with limited representation in my community, I became fluent in the art of masking, carefully crafting personas to meet the world's expectations. Despite my efforts, I struggled to feel a sense of purpose and belonging, believing the world’s messages that my value and worth lied in my ability to assimilate and conform, to achieve and produce. This left me feeling hollow, burnt out, and incredibly alone, wondering what it was about me that was never enough.

Hi, I’m Emery!

Yet, a deeper truth was lurking under the surface, whispering and waiting to emerge. As I began my own journey in therapy, I discovered that liberation comes not from perfecting these masks, but from gently setting them down. This path to wholeness—embracing my gender identity, neurodiversity, and cultural heritage—revealed depths of joy and peace I hadn't known possible. Now, I believe that no matter how hard the world tries to stifle us, our identities are sources of strength and resilience and by embracing them, we step into our power. Today, this fuels my passion in gently guiding others to step into theirs.

Drawing from a rich tapestry of healing approaches, I blend the wisdom of Attachment Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Internal Family Systems, Queer Theory, and body-based healing practices to create a warm, playful space where healing unfolds naturally. Whether you're exploring gender and sexuality, processing trauma, or reconnecting with your body's wisdom, I will walk alongside you with genuine curiosity and care. Here, healing doesn't always have to be heavy—sometimes it’s wrapped in laughter, shared memes, and silly pet photos!

In this space, you'll find more than safety—you'll discover celebration. Together, we’ll unravel internalized shame, challenge old narratives, and embrace your whole self, moving beyond mere survival into a life that feels authentically, vibrantly yours.

My Values

  • I value the internal and external liberation of all people. The trauma endured by marginalized communities at the hands of white supremacy, colonialism, imperialism, and capitalism is too often ignored, pathologized, misunderstood, and exploited. As a queer, trans, and nonbinary Boricua, I believe creating a space for intergenerational healing to dismantle internalized and systemic forms of oppression is an act of reclamation for collective power.

Therapy is political, a radical practice of experiencing wellness through connection and an act of resistance to stigma and erasure. As healthcare providers operating within systems of oppression and inequity, it is a therapist's responsibility to use our power to highlight the impact of systemic issues on individual wellbeing and empower our clients to use their agency in making change beyond their individual experience.

  • My primary goal as your therapist is to empower your authentic self. This involves fostering an environment where you feel encouraged and supported to take control of your own healing journey. Above all else, I prioritize your sense of agency and self-efficacy and aim to help you discover your own strengths and capabilities. This approach is designed not only to boost your confidence but also enable you to make meaningful change in your life, reinforcing the belief that you have the power to overcome challenges and achieve your desired outcomes.

  • Collective liberation can only happen when we recognize the commonalities between all humans and honor, celebrate, and uplift our differences. When we rise against systemic forms of oppression together, we reclaim our collective power and show the world the beauty of diversity.

  • I approach each of my clients with genuine empathy, understanding, and kindness. I will recognize and validate your struggles without judgment, and offer support that acknowledges your emotional pain and your resilience. By creating a safe and nurturing space, I aim to help you feel heard and valued, and to foster a trusting relationship for you to engage in personal growth. This can be a profoundly healing experience, can enhance your ability to navigate challenges, and can help you build a more positive self-concept.

  • I believe in an equitable world where a person's intersecting identities are honored, valued, and uplifted. People embodying minority identities often have lived experiences of oppression. I do not tolerate any forms of hate, racism or discrimination.

I also believe in systems that make an effort to reduce the barriers and provide access to resources and healthcare for all. As a therapist, I value providing high-quality clinical services to everyone regardless of race, gender, size, ability, and/or socioeconomic status.

  • As your therapist, I will encourage you to confront and navigate your fears and vulnerabilities with bravery and determination. This requires fostering an environment where taking risks, embracing change, and facing difficult emotions are seen as essential steps in the healing process. By modeling and supporting courageous actions, I help my clients build resilience and discover their inner strength. This commitment to courage not only empowers you to tackle your challenges head-on but also inspires a deeper sense of self-efficacy and growth throughout your therapeutic journey.
